Born on the 4th of July....

Well, my last "real" post was on April 8th.  We have all been so busy I just haven't had the time to blog.  Plus, I haven't been super motivated lately.  We've been outside playing in the kiddie pool, fishing, gardening and eating popsicles.  We love summer around here.  I enjoy it, but it will never take the place of Fall in my heart :)  I'm also getting a little more cranky about the heat than I was in my younger days.  Anyway...this is the weekend before the 4th of July.  I've always loved the 4th of July.  I have such fond memories of celebrating the 4th (which is also my dad's birthday) out "in the country" with my aunt, uncle and cousins. We would swim all day and pop fireworks.  Then in the evening our parents would set off the prettier fireworks.  I think I was brave enough to handle a sparkler.  Anyway...I've always loved celebrating the 4th with family. I'm so excited to live where it is legal to set off our own fireworks.  Last year there was a burn ban so we weren't able to....but not this year!!  So, I've been working on getting the house all decorated and patriotic.  Thought I'd share a few pics of the progress....

This is my Patriotic Mantel.  I just love that banner - got it for $1 at Target in the Dollar Spot!!! I couldn't have made one cheaper than that! :)

This is one of the nicest "free printables" I've found on the internet...I have to thank my BFF, Stefanie, for sending me the link.  I just love it.

I bought some bunting.  It is that thin metallic material b/c I went with the "economical" version.  Next year, I will get the real deal.  This blows in the wind too much.

This is another cute printable I found online - put it in my .99 IKEA frame :)

I found this cute little patriotic cow at Hobby Lobby.

Found this at a garage sale...borrowed the idea for the wheat from Stef :)

And these are my adorable patriotic babies.  Or...I mean....children.  Some of them are still babies but there are a couple that might not like me calling them a baby :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful, blessed Independence Day!!
