6 Months Old!

Susanna after a session of fingerpaintint with her daddy and her sister...

Susanna is 6 months old!! Where does the time go?? It seems like she was just a newborn. I took her to the doctor this morning for her 6 month check-up and everything is great! She weighs 20 pounds and 6 ounces and is 28 inches long! Grow baby Grow!! :) She is in the 95th percentile for her length and weight. The only bad thing about her trip to the doctor was the 3 shots she got. She didn't like those but she was a very big girl and didn't cry very much.

She's changing so much everyday! She can roll from her back to her tummy without any problems now. She isn't quite ready to roll from her tummy to her back yet, though. She hates being on her tummy. She has two little teeth on her bottom gum and she's not so sure if she's liking solid foods yet. We've tried some apples, bananas, squash, sweet potatoes and rice cereal. She is still spitting most of it out, but she'll get the hang of it soon!

The Birthday Boy!!

Dylan had his 3rd birthday party this past saturday! It was a lot of fun. His mommy and daddy were able to have the party at their church so we had access to the gym and there was lots of space to run around in! There was even a pinata for the kids.
Dylan received lots of very nice presents, including this cowboy hat and guitar. (This makes his 3rd guitar :) Dylan is quite the young musician. He definitely has a rhythm and is a great singer. He loves to sing "This is My Town" and he loves to watch CMT and sing along to his favorites like George Strait and Kenny Chesney. Look for him to be the next American Idol in about 15 years!

Madeline and Baby Rylee

This is a picture of Madeline holding her new cousin, Rylee. Madeline loves her new cousin very much. Madeline has even named her doll Baby Rylee.(formerly named "Baby Naked"). Every single day she is such a good mommy to her "baby Rylee". She feeds her, gives her a bottle, gives her kisses, puts her night-night and changes her diaper. She will make a very good mommy someday.

Happy 4th Anniversary to Us!

(Here we are last Halloween when I was about 8 months pregnant)

Yes, this past week Matt and I celebrated our 4th anniversary. It is hard to believe it has been 4 years that we've been married! They've gone by very fast. Our actual anniversary was on thursday.

Well, Last Christmas I won a gift card from my work for $100 to a place called Boulevard Steakhouse http://www.boulevardsteakhouse.com/ at a drawing. So we have been saving the gift certificate until our anniversary. We made a reservation and went last night. We arrived and the place was very nice. Very dark. Candlelit. They had put a menu in with my gift certificate so I already had an idea of the prices. Very pricey. Especially for our limited, get-outta-debt, budget. I was excited though because I had never been to a real "steakhouse" before. I opted for the Filet Tips with something-or-other sauce and Matt got the special. It had 3 filets (3 oz. each) with a different sauce over each (and the filets were on top of mashed potatoes). His was very good. Mine was very good at first. The sauce was pretty strong tasting so by the time I was finished, I didn't care for it much anymore. Does that make sense? I got the Steakhouse Salad which was good. It had cut up pieces of artichoke, which had an odd taste. And blue cheese dressing (which was a first for me.) We had a yummy dessert. It was a pastry with carmelized bananas and ice cream on top. It even had a slice of chocolate on top that said "Happy Anniversary". It was a nice meal. I felt a little "out of my element", though. A bit too fancy shmancy. But nice. I've never had a $95 meal before. So, anyway, this has been a long post to talk about a dinner but it was something I thought some of you might find amusing! :)

Jumperoo!!!

The Jumperoo!! What a super fun toy. If anyone is wondering...is the $60 worth it?!?!? Let me just tell you....YES! We broke down and bought this at Wally World this morning. Susanna has been in this thing for literally the past hour. She has been jump-jump-jumping away. She loves it.

Walk America 2006

Well, yesterday was our 2nd year to participate in the March of Dime's "Walk America." My brother has had a team for 3 years now. My nephew, Dylan, was born at 23 weeks and 6 days gestation only weighing 1 pound and 10 ounces. His twin brother, Braden, unfortunately did not make it. So, in honor of both Dylan and Braden my family has become active with the March of Dimes. This year, we had a great team of walkers!! (Go Mike, Dylan, Holly, Tony, Max, Chris, Kelly, Nina, Tenly, Madeline, Susanna and Me!! ) ....daddy couldn't make it b/c of work :( Of course, we had lots of people cheering us on at the park too! Our walk was 3 miles long and I made sure to wear tennis shoes this year. Last year I wore flip-flops and paid for that afterwards with blisters! When our walk was over there was italian food catered for a $1 donation. Yum!!

Here we are at the Finish Line!! It was about 97 degrees out yesterday and thankfully there were many people handing out water for the walkers. It was a fun, fast-paced walk. It's funny, we came in last but that's okay :) It wasn't a race!

I made my goal of raising $250 for our team and I want to thank everyone who helped sponsor us!

Here is Madeline with her cousin Dylan! Thankfully the Lord has blessed him so much and he suffers no effects from his premature birth. His birthday was yesterday and he turned 3 years old. He's a happy, healthy 3 year old!!

What a fun day we had!!

A Tooth...A Tooth!!

Susanna has been fussy these past few days and chewing on everything. I've been thinking that maybe she was teething and sure enough...she has two tiny little teeth errupting from her bottom gums! Boy, she's growing so fast....

As You Get Older the Water Gets Colder...

Okay. So we have one of those swimming pools that you just air up the ring around the top. You just put the water hose in and POOF, a place to swim. Well...although it was in the mid-90's here yesterday the water in the pool was cold. At least for Daddy. You see, when you are 2 the water is NEVER cold but as you grow older, my theory is that the swimming pool water gets colder. Until you get to be 31 like mommy and you just don't want to get in anymore. You don't want to change clothes, get grassy and be cold right before you have to cook dinner. If I were 2, this would never have been an issue (except the cooking dinner part). Needless to say, Madeline loves her pool! She even sings a little song that goes, "I love my swimmin' pool". She doesn't realize that there are $20,000 inground pools on both sides of our yards on the other side of the fence. She's perfectly content with her little $50.00 Wal-Mart pool. Her daddy loves it too! He on the other hand doesn't let things like cold water, grass or sticky wet bathing suits keep him from jumping in. I know he has a little child in his soul somewhere...and I LOVE that about him!!

Some Progress...

Well, I've made SOME progress on my blog. I didn't realize when I started this adventure that I would have to familiarize myself with HTML. ...ugh. I'm not a computer person. I usually leave the computing up to my husband. So, here I am so far....I hope to have more later!
