Mommy Gets Away for the Weekend....

What a fun weekend I had! It was so nice and relaxing. I went with some friends of mine on a "Girls Only" weekend getaway...no kids and no husbands. Just us girls! We've been planning this for a while now and we finally got on the road friday afernoon!! My friend Megan's family owns a beautiful ranch in Texas just outside of Graham and they were gracious enough to allow us to retreat to their beautiful ranch house! We spent a lot of time talking, which is something we don't get to do much in playgroup - believe it or not! We usually have our little ones interrupting or needing something and that prevents a lot of adult conversation. So we were able to definitely catch up on this trip. We learned a lot about each other and I am so happy for that! We were also able to eat some good BBQ and do a little shopping. We made it home late saturday and I think everyone really enjoyed their time away to kind've rejuvenate themselves! I can't wait until our next trip!!

This is where we went....just outside of Graham, Tx.

Here is the beautiful house we stayed in. It is VERY OLD, except

for some recent room additions.

This little momma lives on the ranch...

These guys live there too...

A beautiful sunset over the road leading to the house...

They definitely hunt on this ranch!

This is the rustic bed I slept in...

Finding Ways to Entertain the Girls....

Finding ways to entertain the girls this summer has been fun.

They like to play dress-up....

Of course they love swimming....

And of course they love boxes!!!

Date Night with Neil Diamond

Well, Matt and I were able to go to a "Themed Thursday" Redhawks
baseball game the other day. The theme was "Neil Diamond" and if
you wore sequins or a name tag that said "Caroline" you got in free.
We chose the name tag option and got free admission.
It was a lot of fun and we realized that the girls would
probably enjoy the game too. Plus it wasn't that crowded
and we'd feel comfortable taking them. So maybe next time.

The first 500 ladies got free roses....

An evening view....

My silly Matt....

Cracklin' Rosie....(Matt made me do it :)

Finally....the Sun!

Finally we see some sunshine! It has been raining so much
lately that we haven't been able to swim much this summer. We took
the girls to a local pool yesterday and they had a lot of fun.
Susanna was a little nervous at first but then she got
to where she was being quite brave. Of course, Madeline
had no hesitations about the water.
One day we'll have
one of these in our backyard!!

4th of July at Uncle Mike's House

After we went to the park on the 4th we went home and took naps.
After our naps, we went over to Uncle Mike's house. He lives in Tuttle
and it is legal to pop your own fireworks. We had a cookout and set
off our own fireworks. The kids enjoyed playing together. Susanna was
nervous from the loudness of the fireworks but Madeline enjoyed
watching them.

4th of July at the park

This year on the 4th we went to the park in Yukon during the day.
We usually go to Bethany but there was no place to park b/c of the
parade so we drove to Yukon instead. There were a few craft
booths and some pony and train rides. The kids had a lot of fun!
