Philip is Two Months Old!!

It's so hard to believe that my sweet little baby is already 2 months old (actually, he turned two months old almost a week ago!) The time just seems to be flying by! He's really getting big!! I took him for his two month well baby check last week and he's up to 16 pounds and 25 inches long. He also had to have FOUR shots! I felt so bad for him. :( He cried a cry I've never heard before. They also gave him a vaccine for rotavirus that was a liquid for him to swallow. It's new and the girls never got that vaccine. He will have to get two more doses. At least it doesn't come with a needle! Philip is really starting to smile all the time and even laugh out loud. It's the cutest thing. He'll even smile and giggle in his sleep. I'm enjoying him so much and not really looking forward to going back to work. I'm sure I've already mentioned that, though. The girls are still loving him!! They are always wanting to give him kisses and to watch or help me do things with him. They are great big sisters. He also is a really good sleeper, thank goodness. He'll sleep about 5-6 hours at a time at night before he wakes up and he's a really good napper. He'll sleep up to 3 hours sometimes. During the day he really prefers to sleep in the swing. Well, speaking of sleeping, for some reason he has been up really late tonight and I should probably go get him to bed!!!

More Pictures from the State Fair (LOTS more! :)

Well, here are some more pics of us from the fair. I ended up going back to the fair two more times after Matt and I went. Once I took the kids and we went with my dad, brother and his family (Matt had school.) And then Matt and I took the girls to the fair while grandma watched Philip. The girls really enjoyed the fair this year! They ate a corn dog and some roasted corn. I think they were more impressed with the cotton candy, though. They really enjoyed seeing all of the animals, especially the baby chicks. And of course, they loved the rides! We bought them an arm band in the kiddie area so they could ride all the rides they wanted. Susanna was a little too short for some of them. Madeline rode just about every ride in the kiddie area. They definitely had a lot of fun and I really enjoyed watching them!

Our Trip to the State Fair!

This year Matt and I were lucky enough to be able to go to the State Fair by ourselves!! Grandma and Grandpa were willing to take on all three of our children for an evening so we could go! Thankfully, the kids seemed to have taken it easy on them :) So, Matt and I went to the fair by ourselves - free of strollers, sippy cups, diapers, wipes and that constant feeling of "where is my child?" "what are they touching?" and saying..."No, we can't do that or buy that." Of course, we want to take our kids to the fair and we plan to do that too, but we also really enjoyed going by ourselves!! And I actually was able to enjoy myself and not be worried about the kids all night! Well, I never worry about the girls, but this is the longest I've been away from Philip. I D-R-E-A-D going back to work!! Anyway...here are some of the fun pictures we took!

Look at us...No kids!!!

A fancy Mustang convertible...I'm thinking I'm getting too old for one of these! I need a more "mom" convertible :)

Matt says "Obama '08!" ....Uhhh Not really!! They offered us a yard sign when we took this picture...I just kinda acted like I didn't hear them :)

The Okla State Bureau of Investigation had a "CSI" booth there. It was pretty cool. They were also giving away fingerprint/DNA kits for your children so you could keep them on file. I got 3 and PRAY that I never have to use them!!!!!

We rode the Space Needle...I was kinda shocked Matt rode it with his fear of heights but he was a brave dude and got on it with me. It was like an oven in that thing. But it had a cool view!

Our view of Downtown OKC from the top of the needle

You must get a State Fair corn dog!! (even if it IS $3.00!!!)

Here I am playing my favorite midway game...I won a stuffed frog!

Unfortunately...no prize from this game. It was fun to try, though.

A pretty view as the sun was setting....

Some Recent Pictures Taken Around Here....

Fake Oval Balls - Fantasy Draft 2008

Matt is the commisioner of a Fantasy Football team - The Fake Oval Balls. In recent years there have been a couple of open slots for teams in this league. Well, Shelly and I have been invited to join along in this Fantasy game of football and we've accepted the challenge. We had our draft recently and it was a lot of fun. Of course, now that the ladies are invited to play, there is lots of good food to eat. We seem to have brought a touch of class to these dudes...whether they realize it or not :) So, we had our draft party and I'm pretty happy with my team. I was the second pick. My dilemma....do I take Adriam Peterson of OU Sooner fame or do I go with Westbrook of the Eagles?? I went with Westbrook. The bottom picture shows our draft. My team is named "Little Brown" in memory of my Parker. Matt's team is JSH - Japeth Shem and Ham. He was the second to last pick. So...we shall see how the season goes. :)
