A Birthday Party for Madeline...FINALLY!

We were finally able to celebrate Madeline's birthday and have her party this past saturday. Her birthday was on the 12th but because of Ice Storm 2007 and a poorly predicted blizzard (that never came) we had to keep postponing her party. Well, we finally had it. We celebrated at home with ice cream and a Little Mermaid birthday cake (that she picked out all by herself.) She was asleep when the party was beginning so I had to wake her up. That's why she doesn't look very happy in the first picture. She didn't want to wear her Ariel princess dress. She didn't want to smile for this first picture either. She informed me that her dress was scratchy and that she didn't like it. I'll hang onto it and maybe she'll like after some time has gone by :)

Sledding at Uncle Mike's House...

Once the ice stopped falling and the sun came
out we all had cabin fever! We were ready to
get out and play a little. So, we drove to my brother's
house in Tuttle to play. We all really had a lot of fun.
It was cool and a bit windy but still fun. We only
had one injury - Madeline. She fell off the little
sled and didn't brace herself and fell on her chin.
She actually bled quite a bit but that didn't stop
her. She was ready for more. I just wish I
didn't have to go back to work tomorrow!

Madeline wants to make snow angels...Fun Uncle Matt!!
Even Susanna loved sledding!
Baby Rylee was out too...all bundled up!
Dylan went really fast!!
Who's cold?!?!?

Ice Storm 2007

We are in the middle of Ice Storm 2007 (as the
local weathermen like to put it.) Madeline and
daddy ventured out this afternoon to check it out.
Mommy and Susanna stayed inside where it's warm!
Here is a video of their fun....

Happy 3rd Birthday Madeline!!

Madeline turned 3 today!! She woke up to an icy,
frosty birthday!! She was very excited to open
all of her new presents this morning. She got
some Little Mermaid pj's, a Little Mermaid
baseball cap, an art center, a Little Mommy
doctor kit and scrubs (thanks grandma) and a
brand new bike from mommy and daddy!!
Because of the icy weather we had to
postpone her birthday party until next Saturday!

Madeline shows off her new hat! Madeline with her new stethoscope!
Let me listen to your heartbeat!
A brand new bike!! (She has to wait until

the ice melts to ride it, though!!)
We had a birthday cupcake with 3 candles...
Yuuuummmmm!!!!
Susanna wishes her sister a happy birthday!

Mommy Knows How to Find a Bargain!!

Mommy has learned over the past year how much fun it can be to go bargain shopping at Target after holidays. (Christmas, Valentines, Easter, 4th of July, and Halloween). Target has a fairly predictable mark-down schedule and they ALWAYS go 50%, 75% and then 90%. I've learned if it's something consumable that I would use ANYWAY, I will go the day after the holiday and buy it at 50% off. I went on Dec. 26th and bought tons of clorox wipes, Cascade dish soap, Doritos, Fruity Pebbles, and a few other items all at 50% off....they had to mark it down b/c it was in "holiday" packaging. The things that I want but don't really have to have, I buy at 75%. And then, when it goes 90% off, I'll go to 3 or 4 Targets in one day and find all kinds of great deals! These are things that I will use or possibly resell at garage sales. Many of these items I find in the regular priced aisles b/c Target employees don't know that it is a "holiday" item and don't put them with the "holiday" markdown aisles. So, mommy went to 3 Targets the other day and spent $17.00 (approximately) on these items in the picture. So that means I got $170 worth of merchandise at 90% off. How much fun is that?!?! I just love shopping at Target. (In case you can't tell what is in the picture, I bought: 5 packages of bows (4.99ea), 1 box of Christmas cards (8.99), set of make-up bags ($19.99), 4 Method plug-in air fresheners (7.99 ea), 2 aquadoodle stocking stuffers (4.99ea), 3 Blues Clues See n Say Jr.'s (3.99 ea), 5 Method Candles (5.99 ea), Christmas t-shirt (4.99), Silly Putty (1.99), Kissables (2.79), Method air freshener (3.99), Salt n Pepper Shaker (1.99 ea), Snowman Baby's First Christmas ornaments (1.99 ea), Glad Candle (2.79 ea)...so....I found a lot of fun stuff!

Madeline Loves Puzzles!

Madeline really loves puzzles! She can put
together a 32 piece puzzle all by herself.
She can even put together a 50 piece
puzzle with a little help from daddy.
He helps with the edges. These
puzzles keep her busy for a good 30
minutes at a time!!

A Party at Pump it Up!!

Last weekend Madeline went to Maggie
and Mallory's birthday party at Pump It Up.
This is a party place with tons of inflatable
slides and moonbounce type toys.
The toys are big enough for the mommy's
and daddy's too. This is definitely a place
we'll have to go back and visit. Next time
daddy needs to come so he can slide too!

A Day at the Zoo...

A couple of saturdays ago we went to the
zoo to walk around and see the animals.
There weren't many people there
and all of the animals were out.
It was one of the best trips to the zoo we've had!
