Ice Storm 2007

Here are some of the pictures we took today. The ice is very pretty! Thankfully, we haven't lost our power or anything. Hopefully we won't!

Fun Things To Do During an Ice Storm...

What do you do when you are 2 and 3 years old and you are trapped inside because there is a historical Ice Storm going on all around you outside? Well, if you're Madeline you play a nice round of CandyLand Castle game with your friends Frosty, Rudolph and Tulip. OR you have a "beach party" with your sister Susanna in the bathtub...complete with bathing suits, suntan lotion and ga-ga's (their blankets). And if that still isn't enough excitement for one day you get mommy to help you make a Christmas Tree cake!!

Susanna is Two Years Old!!

My sweet little Susanna is two years old today! The time has just flown by. She's getting so big and growing so much. Here are two pictures I recently took. The second one is pretty funny...she is fascinated with chapstick and lipgloss. She simply calls the stuff "lips". She always wants more lips on. Well, she got into my purse when I didn't know it and found mommy's "lips". So, you can see that it doesn't always get on her actual lips. She needs a little practice...

Getting Ready for Christmas....

It's starting to look like Christmas at the Kendall house. We went the friday after Thanksgiving and got our Christmas tree. That's our tradition...to put it up the day after Thanksgiving so we get to look at it for one whole month!! This year we bought a Douglas Fir. I hope it doesn't dry out as quickly as our tree did last year. We brought the tree home and went to work right away in decorating it. The girls really enjoyed helping and they were very excited about hanging the ornaments. Susanna kept taking them off, though. Daddy put the lights on the house a couple of days before Thanksgiving, though, before it got cold outside. I will have to go out and take a picture and post it on here. We also got out the little trees for the girl's bedrooms and decorated those. It was a lot of funny for mommy and the girls!

Haunt the Zoo 2007

We visited the zoo for Halloween this year. It's becoming an annual thing. This year we went on Oct. 30th and we usually go earlier. It was VERY crowded. We felt like we were being herded through. I don't think the adults had very much "fun" but the kids totally enjoyed it. And it's about them, isn't it? So, we had fun watching them. Susanna was VERY excited about being there. She was jumping and singing and running the whole time. Madeline was very brave and wasn't really afraid of any of the costumes or anything. They both received lots of candy in their bags. But best of all...they each got a coupon for a FREE kids meal to Chick-fil-a! (Our favorite!!!) Madeline even got her picture made with the Chick-fil-a cow. They looked adorable in their princess costumes. Luckily the temperature was pretty mild and it wasn't very cold.

Jack-o-Lanterns Everywhere!

Last night was our annual night of pumpkin carving. We carved three pumpkins this year. We've always just done one in the past. We ended up with a lot of pumpkins this year, from the pumpkin patch. We each had our job - Mommy cleans the yuck out of the inside of the pumpkins and takes pictures, Madeline helps clean the yuck and got to help carve this year, Susanna watches and Daddy draws and carves the faces. Susanna kept saying "Pumpkin shucky!" She didn't like the idea of touching the inside of the pumpkin. We all had a lot of fun and the pumpkins looked pretty cool with the candles inside.

The World's Biggest Tea Party!

Madeline and mommy had a fun night watching My Little Pony Live. (From the same people who make Sesame Street Live.) We went on friday night and Daddy and Susanna had their own night of fun - they walked around bricktown and went to the Bass Pro Shop. The Little Pony show was pretty cute. The ponies were planning the "World's Biggest Tea Party" and there were lots of cute songs and decorations. There were lots of little girls there with their Little Pony light up stars (they sold these at the show.) Madeline really had fun and her favorite pony was Wysteria (the purple one). Mommy liked Pinkie Pie.

The Cutest Pumpkins in the Patch

This year we went to the pumpkin patch at TG Farms. It was so much fun. We were able to go on a weekday so there were very few people there. We practically had the whole farm to ourselves. This was probably my favorite pumpkin patch we've visited. It didn't have a fancy carousel or train but it did have several cute, playful farm animals. It had LOTS of pumpkins - of many different shapes, sizes, colors and contours! There were swings and slides and hay mazes and tricycle races. It had functioning bathrooms and it was really clean. We rode the tractor and we were able to get full-sized pumpkins to take home (not those tiny pie pumpkins). I have uploaded a lot of pictures, but it was just so fun I wanted to share them all ! I hope you enjoy looking at them :)
